​Rohit is an Assistant Professor at Bennett University (The Times Group). Earlier, he was associated with C3i Hub - iHub NTIHAC Foundation, Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur (IITK), India as a Post-Doctoral Fellow. and Department of Computer Science and Engineering, IIT Kanpur, India as a Senior Project Engineer. At IITK, he has worked in the group of Prof. Sandeep Kumar Shukla and Rachit Agarwal. Here, his research domain is to identify security threats in the blockchain ecosystem.

Rohit has obtained his Ph.D. from Motilal Nehru National Institute of Technology (MNNIT) Allahabad, India, under the supervision of Prof. Dharmender Singh Kushwaha. His PhD thesis title was Anti-Predatory Nature-Inspired Algorithms and Their Applications. Before that, he did M.Tech from Amity University, Noida, India, under the supervision of Prof. (Dr.) Ajay Rana and B.Tech from Galgotias College of Engineering and Technology, Greater Noida.

During their post-doctoral studies, Dr. Sachan worked on identifying security threats in the blockchain ecosystem based on the temporal aspects. He also worked on the detection of DNS-based in-browser cryptojacking. Currently, he is working on threat detection and Android security. During their doctoral studies, Dr Sachan worked on nature-inspired algorithms and developed a new nature-inspired algorithm, named an anti-predatory nature-inspired algorithm, with its real-world application.

Rohit’s research interest mainly includes Blockchain Forensics, Use-cases of Blockchain, and Cyber-Security. He is also interested in Solving the Engineering Optimization Problem using Nature-Inspired Algorithms. He is a member of IEEE and ACM professional bodies.
